Named after the mythical creature that lived in the swamps of the Bunyip river, Bunyip is a charming country town with a character of its own. 
Located  on the train line only 82km SE of Melbourne and 18km West of Drouin, Bunyip is part of the growth corridor that extends down line.
The township of Bunyip consists of a wide variety of businesses, schools, healthcare facilities and sporting clubs. The Bunyip railway station is serviced by V line trains.
Some key features of Bunyip include the wildlife sanctuary, an annual agricultural show, as well as the Country music festival which is held the 1st Sunday of February each year.
