Vibrant Community

As you head from Drouin to Neerim South you could almost miss the small town of Rokeby. Vibrant in character, it is situated 100 kms from Melbourne and 15km north of Drouin.

Gold was first discovered in the area of Rokeby in the 1860's along the Tarago River and by the 1890's land to the north east of Rokeby was held in gold mining leases. This area is now know as the Crossover Regional Park.

Attractions within the area include the Rokeby Crossover Trail. Commencing at Rokeby, this trail follows the former Warragul to Noojee Rail Line to the Crossover Regional Park. It then heads north towards Neerim South before continuing on to the edge of Neerim.

Highlights of this 4km trail include the trestle bridge at Crossover, views of the Tarago Reservoir, Bunyip State Forest and Mt Baw Baw.

Once a month, for 9 months of the year, the vibrant community of Rokeby comes alive with the Community Market. With over 120 stalls on display, you will find a wide range of plants, hand crafts and local produce. It is here that you will experience the great outdoor atmosphere and country community hospitality.

Rokeby has an array of beautiful properties, with everything to suit first home buyers to those in search of lifestyle properties. You'll have to be quick though because they don't come on the market very often.
